Thunderstruck is book one of a series. I was not expecting to enjoy this book so much or become so invested in the characters. This author took this dystopic novel to a place few of this genre go. You see the gritty beginnings of how a dystopian society is born. The story shows how people in a small town in the middle of America react to it's conception and implementation. It also reveals the formation of the resistance to the government. The author uses humor, current events, and a healthy dose of Scripture to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The characters' personalities reveal flawed humanity with a pinch of humor (sometimes a cupful or two). I actually found myself alternating between wanting to smack the author, laughing as I shared parts of the storyline with family members, and cheering as I reached the conclusion. It was refreshing to have the plan of salvation stated so plainly in the book in a manner that neither detracted from the plot, nor watered down the Gospel. The only question now is, when will the next book be published? I have to know what happens next.Product details

This was a great book and put life in perspective. I loved the characters and was hooked from the first few pages. The characters have real life situations that are relateable. And to see how God works through them is something that I enjoyed reading about.
