Blood, Brains and Bullets is Book One of the new Blood, Brains and Bullets series by Sean Liebling. It starts on Day One of the Outbreak and continues through the first seven full days after its apocalyptic climax.
Jay has started his daily routine as a single father of three, when the news hits of massive deaths— then reanimations—from the vaccine distributed by the government to combat the super-flu virus that has been sweeping the globe. Of course, that plan of theirs doesn't include him and his, so this Marine does what all Marines do best He kicks ass without bothering to take names, and along the way he happens to fall into the clutches of a girl or three. Jay is a dedicated self-styled player who gets lucky more often than not, and has a soft spot for children. As one of ‘those survivalists' they always talk about on the news, he's better prepared than most when the shit hits the fan. During the coming days and weeks, he will be forced through circumstances to grow up (reluctantly) and does his utmost to save his community from the forces of the secret Shadow Government, while melding close friends, survivors, and salvaged military units on the run into a force to be reckoned with! But it isn't over yet, because Jay is a Marine, and he has a few tricks up his sleeve which he fully intends to implement while accumulating as many girlfriends as possible.
This series will have you laughing hysterically at Jay's womanizing antics, then crying like a baby during scenes of heartrending tragedy and sacrifice. It will also make you cheer when and if the forces of good triumph over those of evil. Written with the help of a medical doctor and a doctor of psychology, along with survivalist friends of all stripes, the scenes you read inside are what would really happen in an endgame situation with a comedic spin to it.

I usually just read these types of books just to have a bit of light reading; not truly caring for the story nor the characters.I was pleasantly surprised by the way this author presented the story and characters to the point where they were human, and interesting.

Took a chance on this book, since it was free at the time, but still feel like I was ripped off. I have read this author before and thought little of his cliche riddled, sub-sophomoric ramblings, but did not recognize the name at first. After reading a few chapters and feeling as if I had read this book before, I checked my library and found I had another book by this clown. I decided to peruse a couple chapters and was amazed at how similar (and abhorrent lame) the storyline, dialogue, and character development were.
SPOILER ALERT You will be agitated by the fact you wasted time and money on this book. Boring, smutty, and just plain repetitive.
Too much wishful thinking in this book. All those women falling for one man. God's gift to women I guess.lol

Well thought out, practical and emotionally compelling characters. This was a great read. I am totally invested in these characters and the flaws that make them real people.
About the best zombie thriller I have read in a while. Very enjoyable!!! Can't wait to read what happens next.
It was a good story that I will continue with. It was however too predictable at times. And too over the top sexual stamina, boob size and instantly in love wise. I did like most of the characters though. But...my opinion is made in a non zombie filled world.
What started out as a good story was ruined in my opinion by way too much T&A and far too much self importance from the main character.
