Kiss Me, the first book in the Union Rising Vampire Novel series, introduces Air Force pilot and Gulf War veteran Colonel Korlin Bliss, who has recently returned home to northern Virginia to begin the next chapter of his life--retirement. He has barely finished unpacking the boxes when his long-dead girlfriend Pamela returns from the grave to claim him as her husband. Scarcely an hour into married “vampire life,” Korlin discovers that Pamela is already married--to Misty, an almost-vampire known as a Twilight, and he now has two wives. Gradually family members amass until the group evolves into a union. From there things only get more complicated with werewolves, assassins with bullets made of tiny silver crosses, mages, necromancers, vampire hunters, the BVI (Bureau of Vampire Investigation) with their bureaucratic red tape and last but not least, Jack the Ripper. All this in a war of race, religion and politics threatens to destroy the family and rob them of their humanity. With a little luck, and a lot of blood, the family may yet survive intact…till death do they part.

Mr. Goldsberry's is a great talent! I haven't finished this novel yet, but know I will very soon because I can't hardly put it down. His writing and his story are reminiscent of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, except with more updated dialogue and more....how should I put it: light-hearted?...action--meaning that his heroin, Pamela, pummels and slashes her enemies with abandon, always with a smile and smart-aleck comment.But there is much more than just simple action in this novel: despite her vampire bad-assness, Pamela, later, in a heart-wrenching show of her continued attachment to, and inevitable conflict with, her humanity, feels guilt for harming the innocent; there is steamy romance, a complicated love-triangle, and the plight of the modern-day vampires "coming out" in society and, furthermore, the in-fighting between factions, hints at modern-day real politics. Plus, I've heard from Mr. Goldsberry that there will be significant mystery investigation storylines throughout his Union Rising series.
I can't wait for more!

The best vampire book I've ever read! I love how there are different types of vampires. I recommend this book to anyone.
I love this book!I couldn't put it down. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a new author and a GREAT read.
Wow! I started reading and did not want to stop, could not stop. The characters come to life and you start to bond with them to the point you expect to read about them in a newspaper. The story line is imaginative and different for a change. The story wastes no time in getting into the action that keeps building to a heart pounding, heart stopping Climax. This book will appeal to both men and woman of all adult ages as it surpasses True Blood and is up there with Underworld. I was glad to find out that the second book in the series will be out soon for this author has become one of my favorites. I have recommended this book to all my friends and I recommend it to you. So if you're looking for something new and suspenseful, then "Kiss Me" is for you.
